divinely inspired

I was out at a little left-leaning book shop in East LA and stumbled upon a poetry book. The poems were witty and odd, with a lot of edginess too. I knew I would have a “moment” if I bought it and read it, and I was correct. I went to my favorite park the next day, alone, and read it on a blanket. I was struck with so much creative inspiration. At first I was thinking, “Huh, I would love to write a poetry book like this.” But then the idea developed more.

I decided I wanted to make a poetry book containing poems from my loved ones and friends. I posted about the idea, and reached out to people about participating. There was a positive consensus towards the idea, with most friends being excited about writing. I created a google form where people could post their poem and also let me know their preference on receiving their own physical and/or digital copy. I have yet to peek at the submissions. I want to give a bit of time for people to write. I will probably check this upcoming weekend.

Aquarius season has been insane for me. I am so incredibly inspired. I can’t wait to bring this idea into fruition. As of right now, there are no time frames or time constraints. I want to let it be slow, let it take time to develop. Generally I rush with projects, but the fact that it’s collaborative encourages me to slow down (so everyone has a chance to take their time too!)

Just wanted to write about this project. I will check back in once there are more updates regarding it.

Best,

Bri
